Stark
graphic portraiture is something I like to work with. It is
straight to the point with no frills.
GIGOLETTE
was inspired from a Marianne Faithful song about a woman out in
the cold, hard world, trying to get by the best way she could.
SIS-STARS
was also inspired from a music track. A song of Leonard Cohen’s
– "Sisters of Mercy". The ambiguous impression in my
mind of spiritual women but in no way religious. Hence the habit
representing spirituality but the "dolled up" faces,
quashing religion.
CRYSTAL
represents a strong powerful woman cold, hard, no soft edges,
like cut glass – hence crystal.
